“If you do not put hard work in, you won’t see results.”
Niamh grew up lucky enough to have family pets, which only furthered her love for dogs and the ability to proudly advocate for the health and welfare of canines.
About Niamh
In dog training it is important to focus on solutions and keep things simple for dog owners so that they can see lasting results for their puppies & dogs. I heavily focus on the owners skills also as we need a good skill set to train our puppies & dogs.
I have nearly 10 years experience across various sectors in the dog industry. My dog training education is with QQI, Pact, School Of Canine Science and Micheal Shikashio and exams done with the Kennel Club. I have a huge amount of experience with a wide variety of breeds, different temperaments and have great, almost innate dog handling skills.
I am a dog trainer that practices what I preach. I have trained and handled my flat coat retriever, who has won multiple best of breeds, multiple group placings, a group 8 (gundogs) winner, Crufts qualified for life in 2021 then became an Irish Show Champion in 2022 and International Champion in 2023. I also have a huge passion for all things gundog training & gundog breeds. I lived in Belgium for a while working with gundogs & gundog puppies. I have also been lucky enough to raise gundog puppies that have gone on to compete in various disciplines in the dog world in Europe, UK & America as well as pet homes.
The health, welfare and ethical breeding of dogs is hugely important to me. I have another dog who is from a puppy farm. He is a Poodle mix and he is a big part of the reason why I am a huge advocate for the regulation of every aspect of the dog industry in Ireland.
I am a proud supporting member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers Ireland (APDTI) & the Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants (IAABC).
